superfile is a terminal file manager with multiple panels, previews,
themes, configurable hotkeys, and optional metadata and directory
jumping integrations. The executable is named spf.

Building requires google-go-lang (Go 1.25.7 or newer). A separate vendor
archive provides dependencies for offline compilation. Go is not
needed to run the built program.

Run "spf" as your normal user. Defaults and themes are embedded in the
binary. Configuration is created on first launch in
${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-~/.config}/superfile/. Use "spf path-list" to display
configuration and data paths.

Optional integrations:
  exiftool (https://exiftool.org/): metadata panel; set metadata = true.
  zoxide (https://github.com/ajeetdsouza/zoxide): directory jumping;
    set zoxide_support = true.
  bat (https://github.com/sharkdp/bat): alternative text previewer;
    set code_previewer = "bat".
  Nerd Fonts (https://www.nerdfonts.com/): file icons. Without a patched
    terminal font, set nerdfont = false.
  wl-clipboard (https://github.com/bugaevc/wl-clipboard):
    Wayland clipboard support.
  xclip (https://github.com/astrand/xclip) or
    xsel (https://vergenet.net/~conrad/software/xsel/): X11 clipboard.

Video previews use ffmpeg (https://ffmpeg.org/); PDF previews use
pdftoppm from poppler (https://poppler.freedesktop.org/). These are
provided by a full Slackware 15.0 installation.

Upstream enables update notifications by default. To disable network
checks, set auto_check_update = false in config.toml. Manage package
updates with Slackware tools, not upstream installation scripts.

Optional cd-on-quit shell helpers are included under
/usr/doc/superfile-1.6.0/cd_on_quit/. They are not activated
automatically.

On the maintainer's Kitty setup, image previews briefly appeared and
disappeared. If you encounter this, try the ANSI block-image fallback:

  TERM=xterm-256color TERM_PROGRAM= spf

This workaround was tested locally; it is not a confirmed issue on all
Kitty setups and does not change your shell's environment permanently.
