# HOW TO EDIT THIS FILE:
# The "handy ruler" below makes it easier to edit a package description. Line
# up the first '|' above the ':' following the base package name, and the '|'
# on the right side marks the last column you can put a character in. You must
# make exactly 11 lines for the formatting to be correct. It's also
# customary to leave one space after the ':'.

linux-pam: Pluggable Authentication Modules for Linux
linux-pam:
linux-pam: Linux-PAM is a free implementation of the sun RFC for solaris.
linux-pam: Basically, it is a flexible mechanism for authenticating users.
linux-pam: PAM provides a way to develop programs that are independent of
linux-pam: authentication scheme. These programs need "authentication modules"
linux-pam: to be attatched to them at run-time in order to work. Which
linux-pam: authentication module is to be attatched is dependent upon the local
linux-pam: system setup and is at the discretion of the local system administrator.
